RECOLLECTIONS AND PHOTOS OF
MILITARY LIFE AT
OKINAWA BEFORE JUNE 25, 1950

My Air Force life started in 1947 at Lackland AFB. My fondest memories there are the 25 mile hikes and scrubbing the barracks floors. I bought a Harley from a Sgt, so it had a base sticker on it. I was able to ride it in and out the main gate without a problem, so I enjoyed sightseeing in San Antonio.

After Lackland I was sent to Lowry AFB in Denver to spend almost a year in photography school. I really liked Lowry and Denver, the photo school was excellent, had modern buildings, and B-25's for aerial photography.
